“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
— Thomas Merton

We look forward to seeing you there!

ENGLISH VERSION FOLLOWS:

Do you love making art, or perhaps have a message you want to show through your work? Join THO-070 at the Queer Artist Collective, where we come together to make art in its many forms and to lift up and support the artists in our community. Whether you have been making art for many years or have decided to start today, we would love to create with you.

Some supplies will be provided (paper, pens, coloured pencils, markers, acrylic paint; this list may be updated!), but feel free to bring your own materials also. Art can be taken with you, or we would be happy to also display it in our space if you wish.

Any artist interested in having their work displayed on social media can let us know either at the event or in the email when they sign up to attend! If you are comfortable with it, we would be excited to showcase the piece, with credit given in your preferred way (Instagram/website link, just your preferred name, anonymously, etc.), on our Facebook and Instagram page to help support our local queer artists.

Doors will open at 13:00 and vegan snacks will be provided to fuel your creativity. The space has an accessibility entrance in the back.

Please register via email by contacting us at aanmelden@thehang-out070.nl . The event is free to attend but advance registration is required.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Self-Building Workshops

We held open public workhops over five weeks to make furniture from the window grills and transform TIAA’s spaces.

Opening Party

After fifteen days of communal open workshops, by Saturday March 30th TIAA’s first floor rooms were ready to use. The opening party was the occasion to thank everyone who came in over five weeks and helped us to grind down the metal grills, and make chairs, stools, light fittings, tables, sofas and shelves.

It was also a celebration of the past work and future plans of all the organisations who have already begun to use the spaces, and the first chance for all those who have so far involved in the Transnational Interstate Art Agency to get to know each other. We look forward to more meetings bringing us all together and to all the ideas and events that can arise from so much energy coming together in one space.
